Robert Walters graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Law. He received his Juris Doctor from Western State University, College of Law. Mr. Walters is a member of the California State Bar and licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California. Mr. Walters has been a trial attorney for nearly thirty years. He began his career as a state court criminal prosecutor and presented countless jury trials and court trials. Mr. Walters lateraled to civil litigation where he worked briefly as a Deputy City Attorney during which time he handled a variety of complex and garden variety municipal liability cases. Mr. Walters is experienced in municipal law and police matters involving pursuit policies, use-of-force, and firearms. After leaving the government, Mr. Walters maintained a successful private practice for approximately twenty years before becoming a partner at Friedenthal, Heffernan & Brown. His legal experience includes felony and misdemeanor cases of virtually every category of crime and a vast array of civil cases including civil rights, ADA, business disputes, serious personal injury, and real estate disputes.
